Maryland Music Educators Association

All State Choral Auditions

Eligibility Requirements:

Students must attend an independent (private), parochial, or public school in Maryland and meet the class membership and grade designations in order to be eligible to participate in the All State auditions.

Each director is responsible for seeing that each student has prepared the audition music as described.

Music Required: The music requirements for each group are listed below. It is the student’s responsibility to acquire the music and prepare it. School directors should assist in this process. Copies of the music will not be provided at the auditions.  The a capella piece must be memorized for the audition.

New this year! – The Senior Chorus audition accompanied selection is sourced from the public domain; however we have changed it to the key of C.  It is strongly recommended that you check the postings below to be sure you have the correct music.  Photocopies may be used for the Senior Chorus auditions, however Junior Chorus cannot use photocopies as their piece is not from the public domain.

In the event that a student arrives at the audition with the incorrect audition music prepared, the student will be given the correct music and up to one hour to prepare the correct music for the audition.

Sight Reading Required: Sight reading will be required of all students.

Teachers with questions about the process may contact Zayna Null, MCEA President; zmnull@carrollk12.org
