Student check-in and the February All State weekend schedule is provided in the music folder. All questions about preparation should be addressed to the All State Manager, as noted in your materials. Roommate preferences will be shared at check-in. This is a learning atmosphere and opportunity to network with others, thus roommate preferences are unable to be guaranteed. Please review where to report, general performance, and rehearsal information. Read below for previous updates. Please plan ahead and travel safely.
As All State Music approaches please review event updates for the February weekend in Baltimore at Carl J. Murphy Fine Arts Center (Gilliam Concert Hall) on the campus of Morgan State University. All State Music weekend updates will be posted using this event blog. Additional updates will be available for All State Jazz and All State Music weekend in March. The music packet and information for All State Jazz and All State Music in March will arrive to the school teacher/director approximately three weeks in advance.
Ticket Check-in: To enhance our efforts with sustainability and “going digital” all additional tickets purchased (online or via mail) can be claimed via the onsite check-in process on the day of the concert. To check-in, provide the name of the ticket purchaser at the welcome area inside the venue. Tickets will be available at the door for $15.00, unless sold out.
Plan Ahead: Doors open 45 minutes prior to each performance. It is ideal to have the full party check-in together. Each concert is approximately 60 minutes. Please plan ahead for your travel route. Also plan ahead and allow plenty of time for traffic, weather, 15-20 minutes for navigating the campus, and finding parking. Parking is free in the “Y” lot and overflow parking is available.
Online Ticket Sales: Online ticket sales for each performance will end 2 calendar days prior to the performance date at 11:59 p.m. (e.g. for a Saturday performance, ticket sales end Thursday at 11:59 p.m. For a Sunday performance ticket sales end Friday at 11:59 p.m.)
Items: Shirts, DVD/CD: All orders for Senior Band, Senior Orchestra, Senior Chorus, and Junior Band were accepted through January 18, 2019. Shirts will be distributed to students on-site using the name of the purchaser. Please ensure students have the name of person who purchased or paid for the item. Update! Junior Chorus and Junior Orchestra shirt sales are extended through February 4, 11:59 p.m. More details are coming soon regarding All State Jazz shirts. Additional shirts may be available onsite or available for ordering at increased prices after the event. This is not guaranteed. Order a DVD/CD online to capture the memory! There is no photography or video of any kind allowed in the performance space. Video recording violates copyright laws.
Exciting, Rewarding, and Rigorous: As a reminder, student schedules include meals, 8 hours sleep, and 3-8 hours of rehearsals daily, dress rehearsals, as well as group transportation to/from the rehearsals supervised by chaperones who are local teachers. Review again in detail the following information to prepare for this exciting, rewarding, and rigorous experience: Participating in 2019 All State, All State Schedule and Rehearsals, Student Rules, Parent/Guardian Rules.
