We look forward to exciting performances during the 2019 State Solo and Ensemble Festival! Music teachers/directors, please plan ahead. All deadlines are established to allow for the necessary review, processing, planning, and scheduling.

  •  2019 MMEA State Wind and Percussion - May 18, 2019 at Towson University Center for the Arts, 7700 Osler Dr, Towson, MD 21204

Vocal Solo and Ensemble Festival applications are included in the online system and is for chorus students in Grades 9-12.

Changes

Any requests for changes to events submitted by the deadline of April 8 must be made in writing to mmeamarylandinfo@gmail.com, to be adjusted by the music teacher.

Deadlines

  • All Solo & Ensemble events must be entered in the online system by April 8, 2019 11:59 PM.

    • April 8, 2019 - All events must be entered into the Solo & Ensemble system. When all events are registered and you don't anticipate further changes, click the "CONFIRM" button. Follow the prompts given, and your "Invoice" will be generated. The confirmation/payment deadline for Solo and Ensemble is April 19, 2019. Payments must be received by the deadline via mail or online. Postmarks are ineligible.

    • Any new events are considered late and must be requested in writing to mmeamarylandinfo@gmail.com to be added. If granted, they will be subject to a $40.00 fee per event.

  • The late fee is $40.00 per event. A five business day extension may be granted in writing, on a space avaliable or administrative basis until April 26, 2019, provided a late fee accompanies the application forms by the extension deadline. After this extension deadline date, all registration systems will close and no additions or changes are available. Late fees will be manually adjusted and updated by MMEA.

  • The bounced check fee is $50.00. No cash will be accepted.

    • April 19, 2019 - "Confirmation/Payment" must be received by the MMEA Executive Office. Payments received after April 19, 2019 will be considered late and may be canceled or not registered until the late fee is paid by the extension deadline.

    • The process and method of payment is determined by the county, school, or teacher.

    • MMEA will coordinate securing a confirmation from the school principal and MMEA will make contact directly (Confirmation Form) with the school principal.


Registration/Application

  1. Visit soloandensemble.org/mmea to set up your account.

  2. You must complete this even if you've used the system in past years.

  3. Within five minutes, you'll receive an automatic confirmation email. Click the link in the email to verify your account and set your password.

  4. Use soloandensemble.org to sign in after your account is set up.

  5. After signing in, use the drop-down in the upper left of your screen to select the proper festival:

  6. When you are finished entering your events, you must click the "CONFIRM" button to complete registration and generate an invoice. See below for more info.

Policies and Payments

  • The process and method of payment is determined by the county, school, or teacher.

  • State Solo and Ensemble fee is $14 per event. First, review how to register and generate an invoice (detailed instructions and instructions guide for teachers/directors).

  • Online or Mail Payments: Include an invoice or invoice number with all payments. Payments can be received by the deadline online or by mail only, with checks payable to MMEA, PMB #472, 6710 F Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie, MD 21061. The MMEA Executive Office is now virtual.  The process and method of payment is determined by the county, school, or teacher. Mutiple items can be added to one cart after a payment form is complete. Do not send cash.

  • Registration/Application Deadline: April 8, 2019, 11:59 p.m. All events must be entered by teachers into the online system. After this date/time, teachers will not be able to register any new events.

  • Late Fee: Any requests for new events after April 8, 2019 11:59 PM are considered late, and a late fee of $40 per event must be paid prior to access being provided. 

  • Confirmation/Payment Deadline: April 19, 2019. Any payment received after this date through April 26, 2019 is subject to a late fee of $40 per event that must be paid prior to scheduling.

  • Refunds/Adjustments: Refunds are unavailable for any cancellations, no-shows, or changes received after April 19, 2019.  Cancellations or changes received prior to April 19 will take 6-8 weeks for processing and must be requested in writing to mmeamarylandinfo@gmail.com.

  • Bounced Checks:  The bounced check fee is $50 with an alternate method of payment provided.
